Returning to non-locality: the methodological «shift» in cultural studies and art criticism

Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the publications that study the relationship between the changes in the paradigms of the development of European civilization and the need to update the methodological foundations in the contemporary scientific discourse of art criticism and cultural studies. The specific features of post-postmodernism as a contemporary social and cultural situation are considered. The author outlines the reasons for the impossibility of describing the latest processes in culture and arts with the tools of postmodern and synergetic discourse. A new comprehension of the concept of post-postmodern processes has been described. The author has found out what methodological foundations and procedures cultural studies and art criticism require in the situation of post-postmodernism, where the non-locality of processes becomes the core.
