Creativity Alexander Shuldizhenko in the context of modern art 1970-80s

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is the formal analysis of graphics and paintings by artist Alexander Ivanovich Shuldizhenko (Stakhov) as well as the identification of objective prerequisites of his author’s style. This article is the result of research study of art. Methodology. Research methodology is to systematize biographical, archival and other documents covering the career of the artist. The above methodological approach allows us to reveal and to analyse the formation and development of his creative manner, organize disparate data on his biography, find a dynamic view of the artist’s creative achievements and new dimensions of its fulfillment. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of this work is the systematic presentation of the stages of the creative ways of A. Shuldyzhenko (Stakhov), the artist. The authors show archives of his being in London and Kyiv. The general issues of social and cultural phenomena in the artistic life of Europe 1950-70’s, that influenced the artistic and philosophical priorities A. Shuldizhenka, plastic and color of his works are considered. Conclusions. The comprehensive analysis of paintings and graphic works of the artist, performed in Kyiv in 1970, permit the authors to reveal features of the expressive manner worldview of the artist, the nature formal techniques inherent in his artistic manner.
