Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the level of knowledge and popularity of selected rural tourism products. The project “Hits of Rural Tourism” was analysed with its 33 elements and 20 tourism products of a rural character awarded the Certificate of POT in the competition Best Tourist Products PTO. A survey was conducted among 830 respondents. The vast majority of them had no awareness of this type of initiative, and only a few percent of respondents were able to identify examples of specific products included in their composition. The source of information about analyzed products was first of all the internet and friends. The most important conclusion from the study is the finding that measures to promote the project “Hits of Rural Tourism” and products awarded a certificate PTO are ineffective.
