Summary/Abstract: The purposes of this article are as follows: to present the essence of the benchmarking adapted to the needs of capital group members, in the context of group attributes, and to develop a reference methodology. The keynote is the claim that benchmarking should be an integral part of continuous improvement process in enterprises in the group. The main research method is the analysis of domestic and foreign literature. The most important achievements are: conceptualization of benchmarking in the capital group and the proposition of the four phases and thirteen steps in the benchmarking methodology. The essence of intragroup benchmarking is a mutually beneficial exchange of information by benchmarking partners about a performance and best practices, which leads to the improved performance of all parties involved in the benchmarking project.
