Summary/Abstract: This article analyses the regulation of sport, the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the rules formulated in its decisions. After discussing the court’s genesis,the article deals with its formation, development and 1994 reform. Te structure of the Court of Arbitration for Sport is then examined, looking at the International Council of Arbitration for Sport, the composition and operation of the court, the decentralized offices, ad hoc divisions and alternative hearing centers. Te article also analyses arbitration process at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. In addition, it examines the functions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport and how the exercise of these functions creates sports law. Te development of legal principles of sports law by the court is then analysed. The article also seeks to ascertain what the effect of the award of the court is and how the court harmonies sports law.
