Summary/Abstract: The Royal Charters represent very important cultural heritage for Bosnia, because they represent certificates of the political and social conditions of a state. The Charter gives us an insight into the language, writing, topography, social and political structure of the medieval Bosnian state. The aim of this paper is to present the basic orthographic and phonetic-phonological characteristics of the King Ostoja’s Charter on the payment of the outstanding debts of King Tvrtko from 1398. The King Ostoja’s charter was written by the scribe Stipan Dobrinovic, and the original charter written on the parchment is kept in the State Archives in Dubrovnik.
