Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes of the semantics of sare (yellow) in terms of cultural linguistics based on the material of Tatar poetry. Particularly, the interaction of language and culture has been considered in the process of formation of national specifics of the semantic volume of the studied color designation in the Tatar language. The semantics of sare has been investigated in the poetical context, individual associations of authors have been revealed. The characteristics of the functioning of sare, additional intratextual meanings essential for the linguistic world image of Tatar speakers have been found. It has been concluded that in the poetical system of Tatar speakers, the lexeme sare allows to create color metaphors, poetical images, which have become the national poetical symbols with the dominant com-ponents of separation, sadness, as well as longing for the Tatar people, native land and nature. The strongest associations with sare are related to the nature: on the one hand, it is perceived as the color of sun, gold; on the other hand, it is the color of moon, bile, unhealthy skin. These are different shades and semantic sides of the same color.
