Summary/Abstract: One of the most noticeable global consumer trends is the increasing interest in leading a healthy lifestyle. The interest in being healthy leads people to spending their leisure time more actively and systematically engaging in physical activity. One of the key target segments of entities operating in the sport market is undoubtedly a group of students. The article presents the results of research conducted in 2014 on a sample of 384 Poznań University of Economics and Business students. Its main objective was to distinguish and evaluate the principal motives for participation in sport and physical recreation. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method was used to analyze the collected data.
