Summary/Abstract: The author of the present paper, along the lines of recent legislation in force in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, addresses the question of the possibility and modalities of valid security of consumers debts arising from consumer obligations. The present contribution is the first part in which the author tries to present the reader with a general explanation to ensuring consumer debt and especially elaborates individual security measures The author, in response to the post in question, will be addressed in its continuation individual means of ensuring.
