Summary/Abstract: The scrutiny of the functions and responsibilities of the President of the Republic of Poland was based primarily on the article 126 of the Polish Constitution of 1997. The regulations define the President as the supreme representative of the Polish authorities, the guarantor of the continuity of the Government and the supreme authority in respect of the executive. Due to the fact that the head of state has no political responsibility before the Parliament or other authorities, the constitutional responsibility and criminal liability were highlighted. This text shows the impeachment procedure as well as presents the process of bringing the President before the State Tribunal. The article also discusses issues related to the violation and breaching of both the Constitution and the law apparent to the public.
