Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the Kwiek family actions as the representation of Gypsies in close connection with political conditions. This clan appeared in public life during the leadership of the Piłsudski’s governing block, and its activity was approved and accepted by the regime, which also adopted Gypsy leaders under country’s consolidation although the Gypsies were included in Piłsudski’s circle not officially. Nevertheless, solidification of representation of Gypsies’ demands followed, which, by representing various centers, spread via government and pro-government press. The Roma could raise several issues that were most important to their community, achieving many benefits for the family itself and the Kwiek clan at the same time.
