Determinants of enterprises’ capital structure. Literature review

Summary/Abstract: The paper begins a series of publications concerning verification of the capital structure theories in the Polish market conditions. On the basis of the literature review fundamental theories were identified and discussed, as well as factors that may affect the changes in the financing structure of the company. For the purposes of further research the following hypothesis was formulated: the capital structure of the company depends on the level of fixed assets, the size and growth of the company, its profitability, liquidity and size of non-interest tax shield.
