Summary/Abstract: This paper provides an overview of C.S. Nicolăescu–Plopşor’s over 40 years of research and his contribution to the field of Paleolithic archaeology. Particular attention will be paid to his most interesting contributions to the field: providing periodization for cataloguing material within a chronological array and interpreting material culture.
