Summary/Abstract: Considering the history of Cucuteni-Trypillia for nearly two thousand years, researchers have focused mainly on the issues of settlements, general history, local types and their interactions, external relations. Questions of “technological race” (emergence, continuity, transfer and overtake of various technologies) have seldom enjoyed as much attention of the researchers. Very few specialised studies are dedicated, to one degree or another, to the early metal-working, flint-working, pottery, i. e. the sectors where innovations and their impact on various processes can be clearly identified. Materials of different studies, which appeared over the last 50 years, provide a broad and impressive picture of changes and phenomena in the sphere of Cucuteni-Trypillia production: from the emergence and spread of new types of production to export of not only products, but also knowledge and technology far beyond territories inhabited by ancient farmers of this community in the V—IV millennium BC. In comparison with the results of studies of the last decade, they allow us to offer an impressive picture of the consequences of technological progress for the population in the Dnieper-Carpathian area in the Copper Age.
