Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to give an overview of important literature on folk epic poems (decasyllable). Overview of literature is classified into three areas: the history of epic poems; the literary-theoretical considerations of national epic poems with literary criticism; and methodical interpretation of epic folk poems.
