Summary/Abstract: The themes of this article are the major impact of effects of institutialization about the development of self esteem and a short presentation of “The Life Story Book” like a method of intervention. The main effects of institutialization are: the trauma of separation from the family, the absence of the attachment relation, the agresivity, the fear of unknown, the difficulty to identify and to express the feelings, the absence of social relationships, the behaviour disorder, the lack of individual and love relationships and the development’s disorders. “The Life Story Book” helps the child to look at his life like a whole, to establish a relation between his past, present and future. Also, the using of this method increase the self esteem of the adolescent, helps him to develop a good self image and to develop his ego.
