Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses questions related to unification of the law of international sales, with the particular focus on the UN Convention on Contracts for International Sale of Goods (Vienna Convention, CISG). The author points out the impact that the CISG has made on the reform of contract law on international, regional and national level and concludes that the CISG can serve as equally useful tool in the ongoing reform of Serbian contract law. A special attention is given to application of the CISG in Serbian court and arbitral practice, with specific suggestions directed to enhancement of understanding of its provisions and their proper application. The need for autonomous interpretation of the provisions of the CISG is particularly emphasized.
