Summary/Abstract: The Germans of the interwar Romania were involved in the country’s political activity. PNG assumes the role of representative of the Germans; the party was not organized after the classic patterns of political parties. In the political development of Romania, the period 1919–1929 was an important step forward. This study is focused on a topic that has been subject to little research in Romanian and foreign historiography in recent years: the activity of the German members of Parliament in Romania. In the first part of the study, the author presents two main aspects related to the fulfillment by the PNG of the legal requirements in order to enter the legislative body (the formation of the party and its participation in the election ballots); further, the author focuses his analysis on several important aspects of parliamentary activity of the representatives of the German community in Romania. The study is intended as a contribution to a better understanding of the degree of involvement of the German members of Parliament in the political debate in the first decade interwar Romania.
