Summary/Abstract: The fictional prose of Meša Selimović has an entirely new character against the background of Bosnian literature. It is clearly visible especially in the fact that the whole attention is concentrated on the inner life of man and ethical problems, which may be perceived already in the early novels of the author and being the characteristic trait of his prose. Innovatory character of the prose of the author of Death and the Dervish manifests itself in the artistic means applied in the writing – dialogical character of the presented world, type of narration, language and the manner of creation of characters
