Contribution to the History of a Migration and of a Settlement (The First 30 Years of the Colony of Tvarditsa in Bessarabia)

Summary/Abstract: The issues related to one of the most dramatic chapters from the Bulgarian history that is Bulgarian migration into the Russian Empire are considered by the example of a separate colony. It is Tvarditsa in Bessarabia. The issues of their settling in new lands, difficulties in their adaptation to the environment, demographic changes, their economic activities, socio-political life of Bulgarian colonists are also examined.
