Summary/Abstract: In the kalam tradition, there is a close relation between the proof of the prophecy of Muhammad and the miraclulousness of the Qur’an. In this context, the miraclulousness of the Qur’an is considered as one of the most important proofs of prophecy. In his work on A‘lâm al-nubuvva Abû Hâtim al- Râzî gives special importance to the miraclulousness of the Qur’an in prooving the prophecy of Muhammad, considering the universality of his mission. For him sensual miracles address only to people living at the time of the prophet while the miraculousness of the Qur’an adresses to all generations. Abû Hâtim also responses to the objections against the prophecy of Muhammad. This article explores Abû Hâtim’s evaluation ot the miraculousness of the Qur’an as a proof of the prophecy of Muhammad.
