Summary/Abstract: The elaboration below raises a subject of the sustainable development. The term is used more frequently in relation to the ever growing interest in environmental protection, in which the substantial role in its implementation have state and local authorities. Currently, the methods of reducing the adverse effects on natural environment are more frequently introduced and assisted by the sustainable development to a large extent. The present study consists of the analysis of waste management system in the city of Częstochowa within the context of the sustainable development.
