LEAN MANAGEMENT PRACTICES SAMPLE CASE STUDY IN DENIM TROUSERS PRODUCTION

Summary/Abstract: Aim: In this study, it is aimed to show how problems can be solved in the packaging section of X denim firm, defining and analyzing the problems such as time losses and non-value added activities in the process and choosing and applying the processes to solve such problems. Method: To achieve this goal, the value flow mapping method from lean manufacturing systems was used. For this, priority will be given to analyzing the status of the existing production lines, and then the future situation map will be prepared with the lean production techniques. Findings: In this way, the findings such as lack of communication, lack of sufficient stock, loss periods caused by personnel, idle goods and machines were obtained. Results: With the use of the lean production technique, the resources were used at the optimum level, and the total 23 steps were reduced to 21 steps, while the flow between the processes was reduced from 554 seconds to 323 seconds to increase the productivity.
