Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims at providing a demonstration of how a particular place can shape people's cultural identity in terms of beliefs, attitudes, interactions, values, and of how cities are influencing individuals culturally and intellectually by their inventive, imaginative, innovative components. The Scottish urban site stimulates their inhabitants' creativity and desire for social interaction, artistic expressiveness and potential for self-exploration developing one's territorial identity, as demonstrated by the selection of texts authored by Ian Rankin and James Kelman.
