The Early-Middle bronze ages tombs from the Kartal fortress

Summary/Abstract: The burials of Early- and Middle Bronze Age discovered by excavations of Kartal hill fort are analyzed in this article. One part of them belongs to the Pit-Grave Culture (later period), another – to the Culture Mnogovalikovaja. Allburials are situated in the vicinity of ancient site, abandoned during the most part of the Bronze Age. The part of Pit-Grave burials represent sflat/ pitgraves (non-kurgan). We assume that the seasonal settlement was located here in some periods of Bronze Age, while in the steppe of Eastern Europe dominated the populations of cattle-breeders.
