Migration of Healthcare Staff from the Republic of Macedonia

Summary/Abstract: The dynamic pace of life, the economic situation, professional development opportunities, hyperproduction of medical staff, are just some of the reasons that contribute to the increase of outflow of the health workers from Republic of Macedonia to West European countries. The reasons for these migratory movements can be categorized in five groups: economic, professional, political, personal and social reasons, supplemented with elements that treat the issue of satisfaction with the profession. The migration of health staff is not a new phenomenon. In contrast to past, the interest for professional mobility, development opportunities and planning the career abroad, is introduced even during the studies of young doctors.This article will analyze the migration of health staff from the Republic of Macedonia.
