Summary/Abstract: The Court of Justice interprets EU law to make sure it is applied in the same way in all EU countries. It also rules in legal cases between EU governments and EU institutions. Individuals, companies or organizations can also bring cases before the Court if they feel an EU institution has infringed their rights. The Luxembourg Court along 54 years of activity ruled in almost 9000 cases, the number increasing in the last 15 years, which imposed new procedure rules and new courts.
