Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the education of young elite from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 1680s. Its aim is to outline the first stage in the education and study in Cracow of young nobleman Adam Mikołaj Sieniawski, the subsequent voivode of Bełz, Grand Hetman and Castellan of Cracow. Young starost of Rohatyn attended the schools in Lviv and then, in the years 1682–1683, studied in Cracow. Interesting details of his education are known thanks to the handwritten lists of his expenses during the stay in the city. Based on preserved sources the study provides information concerning the education of the young nobleman, and follows his stay and everyday life during his studies.
