Summary/Abstract: One of the most important parts of the Ottoman heritage in Kirkuk, a precious representative of the oldest Turkish native land, is the cemetery or martyrdom, located on the alongside of the Prophet Danyal Mosque in the Kirkuk Fortress. In the cemetery there are the graves of local notables and Ottoman government officials who lost their lives in Kirkuk. In the cemetery with a total of 27 burial places as well as graves, some graves do not have any stone while others were broken or unreadable. Alongside the tomb of Ömer Naci Bey, one of the prominent names of the Union and Progress Party, other gravestones belong to officers in the positions of lieutenant general, brigadier general, colonel, majors and captains. Ottoman tombstones in the cemetery belong to the period between 1887-1916.
