Summary/Abstract: In this paper we will attempt a comparative interpretation of Strugatsky Brothersʼscience fiction novel Roadside Picnic and GSC Game Worldʼs action–adventure video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. The goal of this research is to show that video games, with their interactivity discourse, can on certain levels significantly enrich and elaborate the ideas found in the source material. In other words, the goal is to show that even hypermodern narrative forms – such as video games – can be perceived as artistically notable adaptations of the source literary work.
