Summary/Abstract: Vojislav S. Radovanović, academician, well known as the student and assistant of famous Serbian geographer Jovan Cvijić; was the manager of Ethnographic Institute of Serbian Academy of Science and Arts. Under the influence of Jovan Cvijić and his anthropogeographic school; Vojislav S. Radovanović studied and worked on anthropogeography, ethnology, physical geography, geology, historical, economic, political and regional geography. The development of anthropogeography was tightly connected with ethnology. Vojislav S. Radovanović and other students of J. Cvijić played an important role in development of ethnology. The role of anthropogeography in the first decades of development of ethnology was undoubtedly big. That influence is not as important today. How did it happen that anthropogeography, which marked the biginning of ethnology as a science in Serbia, disappeared over time and that today the two sciences – ethnology and geography, which cooperated closely for many years, have no contacts any more? Can the relationship between these two sciences be restored because of some common interests?
