Summary/Abstract: According to Art. 25, §1 of the Convention on the settlement of investment disputes between states and nationals of other states, the jurisdiction of the Centre shall extend to any legal dispute arising directly out of an investment, but without a definition of the term “investment” In the present paper we shall clarify the term “investment” in the light of the existing legal doctrine and practice.
