Summary/Abstract: Fan Stylian Noli (1882-1965) is indisputably one of the most distinguished personalities of the Albanian National Renaissance as well as among the most gifted and versatile of the 20th century Albanian intellectuals. He has few peers in respect to the breadth of his contributions to Albania and Albanian culture. His accomplishments encompass the areas of religion, politics, literature, journalism, music, oratory, and history. During his lifetime, Noli mastered some twelve languages which enabled him to translate a variety of world literary and dramatic masterpieces into Albanian. Many of these translations are considered to be classics in their respective genres. It is no exaggeration to state that Noli was an archetypical polymath.
