Summary/Abstract: The present paper approaches the changes insight the scientific communication system induced by the technological changes and the open access patterns. Different perspectives of the library evolution in the framework of the scientific communication system are under debate, as well as the role of the scientific libraries in carrying on these functions in the framework of this system.
