Summary/Abstract: The paper approaches the problem of the consortium purchase of the electronic information and documentation resources to meet the information needs of the academic and research community in Romania.For this purpose, ANELiS Plus Association was established in 2011 and includes, among its 80 members, the great Romanian universities, research and development institutes and the four central university libraries. Besides specifying the mission,objectives and activities of the Association, the paper also focuses on value-added services that ANELiS Plus offers to its members. The shared-acquisition, assisted by specialists in library and information science, proves to be nowadays the only intelligent and effective way to provide access to scientific literature, expanded at national level.
