The Canonicals of the Cathedral of Drivasto second their Status

Summary/Abstract: In the article I have tried to bring a view of the life and the organization of the canonicals of the Cathedral in the medieval city of Drivasto(Northern Albania). The clerical society of Drivasto was organized in two main groups, who were the canonicals of the Cathedral of St. Mary and the canonicals of the St. Georg’s Church. The canonicals of the St Mary’s Cathedral had their own statutes, which is like a constitution for such institution. In these statutes, we see the different rules, that organized the life, function and the work between the members of these clerical society. There are here specific articles on choosing the rector, the canonices, and so on. In the end, there is e list with names of the canonicals of Drivasto, which gives as much information’s about their social descendance.
