Summary/Abstract: The article concentrates on how PRL images function in Polish documentary cinematography made after 1989. The authors bethink the presence of memories of communist experiences in modern documentaries, differentiating two basic (and characteristic for this period of Polish cinema) tendencies of presenting the images of socialist past: PRL understood as a battlefield and PRL as an object of peculiar nostalgia (or play).
