Summary/Abstract: In this article most attention was paid to methodological issues―how to partly reconstruct a dictionary, which had most probably disappeared, according to its traces in two other surviving manuscript dictionaries. The two dictionaries―Clavis Germanico-Lithvana and the so called Dictionary of Richter contain common elements that are not present in the other two known dictionaries from Lithuania Minor―the Lexicon Lithuanicum and in the so called Dictionary of Krause. These common elements permit me to assume that the first two had originated from one common source. The type of German lemmas and Lithuanian equivalents give evidence of a dictionary that is so far unknown (I term it Dictionary X). The characteristic features of this dictionary are the following: (1) The equivalent is given in the 1 sg. praes. form. (2) The occasional rendering of the 1 sg. praet. and the 1 sg. fut. form as the main forms for verbs. (3) The inclusion of the gen. sg. forms for nouns and adjectives, even if inconsistent. (4) Examples from the Old Testament. The lexemes that match in Clavis Germanico-Lithvana and the Dictionary of Richter, and that might have been taken from Jonas Rėza’s Psalteras Dowido (Königsberg, 1625) and from Baltramiejus Vilentas’s Euangelias bei Epistolas (Königsberg, 1579) allow me to guess that the compiler of Dictionary X used lemmas and equivalents from these two sources.
