Summary/Abstract: The interpretative approach of any religious creation has as starting pointthe text, the word being the one which inspires the melodic construction, contours the harmonic development, imposes the dynamic line, and all these, within the context in which for a long period the believers of the RomanianOrthodox Church have been kept apart from the Romanian text, there havebeen things hard to realise. In case of church music, but especially in case of that dedicated to theHoly Liturgy “the word is the master of music”, creations being entirelysubordinated to the text, and sound interlacing tending to highlight and amplifythe prayer’s images. Music overposed to a liturgical text, that you understand, aims to highlight its content and significations, granting it new expressivehorizons, because in the text creations of the Orthodox Church, music is theone which lends to the poetry the faculty of evoking the echo of pure feelings. For that purpose, the emotional force of any musical work designed forcanticle, is due first of all to the cohesion between these two elements, symbiosis that actually represents the quintessence of “Romanisation” ofchurch texts designed to canticle.
