Summary/Abstract: Seen as a whole throughout history, the Romanian and Serbian ecclesiastical relationships have been founded upon brotherhood and orthodox solidarity. Even if, in a certain historical context, these relationships were problematic, christian love and orthodox solidarity came first and counted most in these relationships. In the past century, the Romanian and Serbian ecclesiastical relationships were expressed through mutual visits of high hierarchs, by taking similar positions in certain ecclesiastical issues, through student and PhD exchanges and so on. In this general development framework, the Romanian and Serbian Orthodox Churches continue to preserve an important, traditional role in the work of fellowship, unity and knowledge of the two nations, highly contributing to the efforts towards consolidating world peace. The spiritual Orthodox dimension, common to both nations, became over time a highly valuable factor to their cohabitation, harmony and good relationships, cultivating their language and writing, preserving their national entity against all alienation attempts.
