Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the scope and the spectrum of interdisciplinarity in the context of women/gender studies. We examine the difference between inter-multi-trans disciplinarity, and consequently we define different approaches and models of the interdisciplinary body of knowledge. Furthermore, a strict distinction between the feminist/gender and neoliberal interdisciplinarity is accented, where the latter is understood as market oriented and utilitarian, and the former as reflective and critical. Methodological assumptions upon which the concept of interdisciplinarirty of feminist/ gender studies as an epistemological and transformative project rests on, are re-questioned and analysed as well. The underlying premise of the paper is the idea of transversal dialogue of N.Y. Davis, which we extend and relate to the concept of transversal feminist interdisciplinarity developed by M. Pryse.
