The Campanian Plate with an Image of a War Elephant

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the plate found in Capena (Lazio), but probably produced in Campania, adorned with a representation of a female Indian elephant with a tower on its back, followed by an elephant calf. Indian elephants were used by Pyrrhus in his war with Rome.
