Summary/Abstract: In his epigram Do Anny, Jan Kochanowski paraphrases Sappho’s poem preserved as fr. 31 V. The last verse of that epigram, “Tylko że martwy przed tobą nie padnę” (“I am almost ready to fall dead in front of you”) seems to show that the Polish poet used Ronsard’s paraphrasis of the same poem, where the last verse says: “Qu’à tes pieds estendu languissant je ne meure”. This shows that Kochanowski’s interest in Ronsard went deeper than his famous homage expressed in the Latin El. III 8.
