Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the passage from Plautus’ Pseudolus containing the phrase oculata die, analyses the meaning of the adjective oculatus suggested by the plays Asinaria (line 202) and Truculentus (line 489) and compares the result of this inquiry with other scholars’ views. The meaning of the phrase oculata die and its origin are discussed.
