Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the determination of the interferential relationship of the semantic extensionale and referent, which is to be based on the arguments of the twofold criteria (onomasiological and semasiological). On the basis of the presented semasiological analysis of the theonym Lith. Kirnis mentioned in De Diis Samagitarum (1582) by Jan Łasicki, onomasiological word research methodology is defined as casuistic. Also, a new explanation of the semantic value of the theonym Kirnis is presented. The assumption of the reconstruction of the individual social group deity cult of hewers is based on the recent translation of the fragments of Łasicki’s work from Latin and their textual research, as well as the etymological analysis of the theonym. The existence of the worshiping object as cherry-tree is refuted.
