Summary/Abstract: Prince Mihail Sturdza is one of the controversial personalities in the Romanian history. Appreciated by certain historians and researchers for his administrative and political skills, blamed by others for his greed and the way in which he understood to increase his fortune, Mihail Sturdza and his epoch undoubtedly represent some reference points of the Romanian modernity. Excepting the historical writings, there are still testimonies bearing a special significance for the historical memory of our modernity regarding the prince and his time, both in Romania and abroad (especially in Germany, in Baden-Baden).
