Summary/Abstract: Carotenoids, polyphenols and vitamins A, E, and C protect the body against the accumulation of free radicals and the occurrence of oxidative stress. Impaired prooxidative–antioxidative balance may lead to non-communicable chronic diseases, including cancer. The aim of the study was to evaluate the nutrition knowledge of young and older men in terms of antioxidant sources in selected foods and the effects of free radicals and antioxidants on the body.
