“THE FINNISH HERITAGE” IN THE SOVIET REALITY OF SORTAVALA

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the role played by the “Finnish heritage” in various spheres of Sortavala live in the Soviet period. The core emphasis is laid on the issue of the further use, transfer, and exploitation of the created by the Finnish people housing, industrial and other resources by the Soviet settlers. The article reflects Finnish traditions in the cultural live and sports of Soviet Sortavala.
