Summary/Abstract: The object of the article is the instrumental case of the noun pagalba. According to the Corpus of the Contemporary Lithuanian Language (CCLL), the article addresses the semantics of the instrumental of the noun pagalba and the features of desemantization. The article follows an opinion that the use of the instrumental of the noun pagalba corresponds to the animacy hierarchy person > thing.
