Summary/Abstract: In the paper the author presents the methodology of as-sessment of the economic impact of cultural institutions on the regional economy. Impact analysis focuses on identify-ing and assessing three types of effects defined as direct, indirect and induced. In the second part of the paper, the author analyzes the direct and indirect effects of the Na-tional Old Theatre in Cracow.
